We are so happy to announce our October screening on Tuesday 10th at 8pm @eshcoop.
What it Means to Be is a documentary by @lea_luizdeoliveira about Callie Rose Petal @lonely_carp and we are thrilled to have them both with us for a Q&A after the screening.
Callie is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and avant-garde conception artist based in Glasgow. What it Means to Be shows her personal and artistic journey from 2019 to 2021. In this intimate portrait, we follow Callie’s steps from academia to performances as she tells us how her art is informed by her activism as a trans person. Lea is a French-Brazilian filmmaker and the co-founder and co-director of the organisation @spititout_project dedicated to opening conversations around consent, mental health and healing through creativity.
Do buy a free ticket if you need or want to. We are taking donations, but you’re more than welcome to join us for free. The donations help us cover expenses for Q&As.
We really can’t wait to share this incredible film with you all.
