I’ve been talking about it for a while and it’s finally happening! Next Queer Film Night will be a special evening of queer Indigenous shorts .
There will be shorts from North America, Aotearoa/New Zealand and Hawaii. Including the stunningly beautiful Kapaemahu directed by teacher, activist, and filmmaker Hinaleimoana Wong-Kalu (Kanaka/Native Hawaiian). This animated short retells the story of four standing stones on Waikiki beach through which four mahu/third-gender healers from Tahiti passed on their powers to the people.
Monday 7th November, 8:30 at the Edinburgh Student Coop.
DM if you’d like to come 🙂
