April QFN is a fiction which follows Mickael, a 10 years old trans boy who moves to a new place in France with his family and tries to build a life for himself. The film follows him as he makes new friends and tries to be seen and accepted as who he is. A poignantly, sometimes painfully, realistic film on the experience of a trans kid whose identity must remain hidden from his parents.
Different in tone to activist films we’ve seen so far, this film takes us in Mickael’s world and invites us to see and inhabit it with him.
Like other films screened at QFN this film has its flaws, which I hope we can unpack during the discussion after the screening.
See you soon 😊
